Situated on the Baltic Sea, this residential and holiday project comprises 30 holiday homes and 10 permanent residences forming a village ensemble. The project features varied configurations, ancillary structures like saunas and carports, and prefabricated timber-frame panels with gable roofs supported by a GL24h glulam ridge beam.
Main Part Design OĆ was responsible for:
Development of the detailed structural BIM model.
Ensuring building stiffness by transferring roof and ceiling diaphragms loads to shear walls through structural sheathing.
Complete Prefab manufacturing package: assembly drawings, single-part shop drawings, bvx files for CNC machining, and element production specifications.
Material bills of quantities and automated shipping/assembly lists.
BIM coordination (IFC) with the panel manufacturer.
Structural Overview
Prefabricated timber-frame exterior and interior wall panels manufactured off-site.
Diaphragm action across roof and ceiling planes transferring lateral wind load to shear walls.
Wall anchorage using Rothoblaas hold-downs and heavy-duty chemical anchors tied directly to the concrete foundation.
š Modeling, Calculation & Coordination Tools
Modeling: Tekla Structures, MPD_Edit, MPD_Timber
Calculations: Excel spreadsheets, Dlubal RFEM, and Rothoblaas MyProject
Coordination: Trimble Connect
New workflow for large amount of repeating assemblies in multiple albulms, designed in one Tekla Structures model was created for this project.
